We can see them at Thanksgiving, can let
them into our lives in a way that is safe or respectful to our boundaries. We can accept that people can see things in a different way and let them live as they wish again. So far as those choices aren't hurting other people and we can to borrow an old expression, hate the sin. Well, we love the sinner because what they do how they act as not up to us good. We choose to see in them to get out of them. That is in our control.
