I think Bitcoin would cut the 160,000 terawatt hours of energy used right now on Earth by half. Because, under a Bitcoin standard, you get rid of central banks, you get rid of fiat money, you get rid of the Pentagon, right? So, these are all huge users of energy. Under a Bitcoin standard, energy use on planet Earth gets cut in half.

The big disservice we do is we tell people you have to spend something for it to have value. You don't have to spend shares of Apple stock for it to have value. It's such a freaking stupid thing to say ... Mark Zuckerberg never spent a share of Facebook stock to be rich.

I don't really look at the price; I look more at the hash rate. And the hash rate over the past 10 years has been in a very predictable, solid bull market, and it just reached new all-time highs recently. And that's really the nexus of the Bitcoin protocol. Price is... the least important data point on Bitcoin. The important data points are hash rate, halvings, difficulty adjustment, the emission schedule every 10 minutes—those are important data points.

If the world realized Bitcoin's value, Bitcoin should be a $10-100 trillion market cap.

I really think that the best way to understand Bitcoin is it's digital property for 8 billion people, and it's going to demonetize other forms of property in the same way that digital books sucked the information out of libraries, and actual books, and universities; and the same way that digital music sucked the music out of your CDs, and your records, and your phonograph, and your piano, and the orchestra.

Now we've got people who aren't even interested in Bitcoin coming in because they just want to pick up the money. They can get 20, 40, 60, 100%+ annualized yield on their US dollars, which kind of shits all over anything you can get in the traditional world.

If you don't want to own Bitcoin, then you don't want to own MicroStrategy because Bitcoin is a risk. But you know what else is a risk? Everything. Running a cruise line is a risk. Running an airline is a risk. Tesla sells cars; cars blow up. Guns shoot people; you get sued for it. Tobacco gives you cancer. There are plenty of businesses that have risk factors.

So, Bitcoin, to me, represents that it's found product-market fit in terms of traction, in terms of usability. Bitcoin, as a store-of-value asset, fits all those parameters without any tweeking necessary on layer one. Bitcoin doesn't need to do any improvements; it doesn't need to do an upgrade. A lot of people find that boring; I find it thrilling. It means that Bitcoin has found traction and product-market fit and that, even if we all walked away and there was no development on it, it would still survive.

The dollar is backed by men with guns. So, the Pentagon, these are the guns that back up the US dollar that eat up something like $1.5 trillion of our taxes. Approximately 50% of all tax dollars goes to the people with the guns to back the dollar. So, what happens is, at some point, with inflation kicking in, it's going to be impossible to print enough money to keep the Pentagon up and running.

When the US Infrastructure Bill news came out, it was very negative. This was not good news. Bitcoin didn't care .. That, to me, reads bull run ... In a bull run, negative press is disregarded and positive news buoys the price. In a bear market, we see the opposite—positive news has no impact, and negative news continually punishes it lower.

I don't really think that Bitcoin is going to be currency in the US ever, nor do I think it should be. I really think, logically, it should be treated as property. It's like owning a building or owning a bar of gold or owning a share of stock—it's property.

[Bitcoin has] taught me a lot about investing, in general. If you just have a 5-10 year horizon on any asset... just thinking that far ahead and HODLing, you're ahead of the curve by 20-fold.

Bitcoin is succeeding, and that's ultimately what this is about. Bitcoin has succeeded, is succeeding, and banks coming in is a validation that is true.

As long as my cash is getting yield that is somewhat close to the... monetary dilution rate, I'm fine parking it in cash ... 10% is the bare minimum—that is my threshold.

Humans could become extinct and Bitcoin is still going to keep going. So, it's up to us to embrace Bitcoin before we kill ourselves as a species.

Gold is no longer a store of value for monetary energy. That's why it's up 0% in a year where the S&P 500 is up 400%. It's pretty clear the marketplace thinks that stocks are a better store of value than gold.

Bitcoin exposes so much of the raw human nature of fear and greed ... Nothing changed about Bitcoin; the price just changed. But because of that, people have these mental models of what's expensive or cheap, and so, it totally flips the idea of ... how do people value things on top of its head. It's really interesting to see.

Bitcoin is big tech without all the risks of big tech.

The US dollar is the world's reserve currency, and Bitcoin is competing to become the world's reserve currency. So, the king, right now, is the US dollar, and Bitcoin's attacking the king.

Robinhood just reported... 41% of their revenue comes from crypto, and over 60% of that 40% is Doge.
